Are you a winner or a bandwagon fan?

What’s goody? What’s goin dine? Hope all is well on your end! Blessings have been bestowed upon me and it’s a GREAT day to be alive so I won’t complain! I’m not gonna lie I’m hype af typing this out right now because football season has —-----------------------------------------------!

~ Ok sorry I typed out something very inappropriate and finishing it up I realized that my daughter might be reading this so I’m gonna chill ~

Ok football season is upon us and I’m excited to say the least. (very demure, very PG, only for my daughter). But before we get into any of that stop what you’re doing and text your patna or your homegirl that Dizzle Stax just dropped another dope ass blog! And then let em know that he has other shit coming out too! I know I been saying that but I promise I’m not selling any wolf tickets! Believe Me! Please Believe Me!

Ok so a couple of months ago I was watching the Women's College World Series with my 12 yr old cousin who plays softball. When we were talking I asked her who her favorite team was and she said OU, the Oklahoma Sooners. Now I started to look at her funny because for one, we live in Texas, but also her cousin (my wife) went to UT. But then I thought about it and realized, of course most young softball players are gonna be fans of OU because OU had won the last FOUR National Championships! (Up until this year where UT took that shit home) But my point is, you can’t shame someone for liking greatness, especially a kid at that!

You see, there’s a fine line between a bandwagon fan and someone who strives for/loves greatness. And that fine line is age! Quite plain and simple, as a young lad or ladette, you either grow up liking a team because that team was handed down to you from a family member or you simply watched that team do a whole lot of winning and were like, “hell yea I can get used to this shit!" I promise you, from the years 1999-2020, there wasn’t one Cleveland Browns fan that lived outside of Ohio under the age of 12…and if there was one, that kid was and probably still is a LOSER! Bandwagon fans are teenage losers or older, who pick a team that’s obnoxiously winning everything and then proceed to be just as obnoxious as that team to their friends and family. And I’m not talking about some immigrant fan shit like Coming to America, where foreigners come here and get their first taste of professional sports and decide to choose whoever won the last championship. (Although I’m sure there are many Buffalo Bills fans in Africa)

Like if you’re 21 years or older and just became a Kansas City Chiefs fan in the past 5 years…sorry to sound harsh but you’re a fucking loser! Listen my 3 major sports teams are the Cowboys, Yankees, and Rockets! (I’m truly an Atlanta Braves fan but I claim the Yankees as well, which I’ll explain why shortly) I have two of the top 3 most “bandwagon” teams in my fandom. But growing up in Texas in the 90s, the only football team WAS the Dallas Cowboys…and them niggas was winning everything, and I’d also like to add that that’s the only professional team my pops actually pushed me into liking, every other sport it was whatever. With baseball, I’m really an Atlanta Braves fan over anything else because of Ron Gant, but I became a Yankees fan in the early 90s too because I thought Derek Jeter was the shit. Oh and they just kept WINNING! So I’ve carried that fandom into my adulthood because Jeter stayed with them his whole career and also it’s fun to be the bad guy sometimes too! I’ll talk more about this bandwagon shit at a later date because what I really want to get back to these damn Cowboys!

Now…as I mentioned earlier I’m a huge Cowboys fan, and if you know anything about the current status of the Dallas Cowboys you know that we ain’t won shit in 30 years! But that ain’t really what hurts, what hurts is we’ve had some good teams in the past, but some dufus shit would happen to keep us from winning. Or we would have some decent teams, but some dufus, or should I say a particular dufus would do something that would prevent us from having a championship caliber team. And that’s where were at now. I’m sure all of you know by now that Micah Parsons is no longer on the Cowboys after being traded to one of our rivals, the Green Bay Packers. Now regardless of how you feel about Parsons and how he handled everything on his end, I think all of us can agree that Jerry once again shit the bed on this one and could’ve handled this wayyyyyy better. On one hand why are you playing hardball with the best young defensive player in the league? Just pay him the money and keep your team in good contention to at least be decent this year. But on the other hand if you did have a problem with Micah or the contract situation and what he and his agent were asking for, why wait this long? You could’ve easily taken care of this months ago, especially before the draft and had more potential trade partners and gotten even more than the two late first round picks you more than likely got for Parsons. This is how everything is with the Cowboys and how they’re managed, even if this trade somehow ends up as a win it’s still a loss because you could’ve gotten significantly more! All I know is, Jerry better get his act together because if they do keep doing dufus shit like this I’m not sure how much longer I can support this loser type behavior. Now I’m not saying I’m gonna go jump on another teams bandwagon or anything…but the Dallas Cowboys for damn sure ain’t gonna get any of my money! I can’t be out here financially supporting failure all Willy Nilly!

Not to mention…ya boy Dizzle Stax just found out he’s having a BABY BOY! You think I’m gonna raise my son and force him to take part in this loser shit? That’s child abuse man! If Lamar Jackson and the Ravens win the next 3 out of 5 Super Bowls and my son decides he wants to be a Baltimore fan we just gonna have to start wearing alot more purple around these parts, because we raise winners in the Stax household….winners and loyal losers, because that’s essentially what I am right now!

Alright, thank y’all for kicking it with me, I appreciate y’all views and what not! Please don’t forget to tell a friend to tell a friend about this blog! Hopefully your team has a good season this year, and when I say your team I’m talking to everyone except Philadelphia fans because PHUCK YOU! I’m sorry, that wasn’t nice at all…if there’s anything that I want y’all to know after reading this it’s that I love you and JESUS LOVES YOU TOO…even you Philly fans!
